L’Operosa S.p.A. – Società Benefit – does not consider sustainability as an secondary objective, but as a basic element of its business model.

The approach is based on integrating ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) criteria into all corporate decisions, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Agenda 2030 of the United Nations.

In the pursuit of sustainable development, L’Operosa actively contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals, in particular:

Obtaining ISO 30415:2021 – Diversity & Inclusion certification of the company’s commitment to promoting an inclusive culture, that respects diversity.

UNI/PdR 125:2022 Certification for Gender Equality, guaranteeing the practices L’Operosa implements to promote gender equality, ensuring equal opportunities for growth and professional development for all employees.

Assessment of worksite energy efficiency (ESCo) to continuously improve the energy efficiency of our worksites and to reduce their environmental impact.

Establishment of the Energy Team within the ISO 50001-certified Energy Management System, committed to optimizing energy consumption and improving corporate sustainability.

A more robust welfare system for employees and optimised internal communication through a dedicated platform, to provide support and benefits for our staff.

We maintain and develop robust relations with over 800 suppliers, to support economic growth and create shared value.

The digitalisation of operating processes for organisational efficiency, for a leaner and more sustainable management of business processes.

Improved IT infrastructure to ensure security, reliability, and compliance with cyber security standards.

Obtaining ISO 14067:2018 CFP Systematic Approach certification, demonstrating our commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of the products and services offered.

A gradual streamlining of the company fleet to make it more efficient and sustainable, contributing to a reduction in CO2 emissions.

Sustainability Committee

The Sustainability Committee supports the Board of Directors in implementing policies and objectives for the organisation’s sustainable development. The Committee assists the Board of Directors in defining medium- and long-term sustainable strategies, and in monitoring the organisation’s impacts on the economy, environment and people. The Committee also helps with setting out the Group’s Sustainability Plan and evaluating sustainable projects that may be achieved in an ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) dimension.

The Sustainability Report

Transparency, commitment, shared value.

For the year 2024, L’Operosa S.p.A. – Benefit Corporation has voluntarily chosen to prepare and publish, for the first time, an independent Sustainability Report, separate from the Group’s consolidated document, with the aim of providing a more direct and accurate account of its economic, social, and environmental impact.

This decision represents an important step in the path of transparency and responsibility that the Company is pursuing in line with its status as a Benefit Corporation, providing a clear tool to understand its daily commitment to sustainable development.

The Environment

L’Operosa has been EMAS registered and has had an ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System since 2019, pledging to continuously improve its environmental performance.

The priority areas of intervention include:

  • the responsible management of waste
  • the use of sustainable products
  • the reduction in consumption and CO₂ emissions
  • the obtaining and renewing of environmental certifications, including the Ecolabel for the services offered

People

People are at the heart of L’Operosa’s operating and value model.
Over the years, the company has strengthened its commitment to a safe, inclusive, fair, and growth-oriented work environment.

Among the most relevant certifications are:

  • ISO 45001:2018 – occupational health and safety
  • SA8000:2014 – Social accountability
  • UNI/PdR 125:2022 – Gender equality

Operosa S.p.A. knows the importance of its role within the communities in which it operates and pays close attention to the social and economic impact that its activities can have on a local level.

Aware of its corporate responsibility, the company is committed to balancing corporate interests with general well-being, contributing to the sustainable development of local communities.

In its Sustainability Plan, L’Operosa has envisioned tangible actions to support social, cultural, and educational initiatives, with the aim of promoting individuals, strengthening the sense of community, and improving the quality of life.

These initiatives are activated after approval by the Board of Directors and relate to areas such as:

  • social inclusion,
  • support for educational and training projects,
  • cultural promotion,
  • promotion of the territory.

All activities carried out are precisely reported in the Sustainability Report, with a perspective towards transparency, traceability, and the measurement of the impact generated.

Joining Global Compact

In 2024 L’Operosa became a participant in the United Nations Global Compact, joining the Italian Network.
By joining, the company expresses is commitment to making the 10 fundamental principles part of its strategy with regard to:

  • Human rights
  • Labour
  • Environment
  • Anti-Corruption

The commitment is monitored annually through transparent and public reporting.

WHISTLEBLOWING (Decreto Legislativo 24/23)

In conformità al Decreto Legislativo 24/23, che è entrato in vigore di recente e che ha lo scopo di promuovere la trasparenza, la responsabilità e la tutela dei whistleblower, ovvero coloro che denunciano attività illegali o scorrette all’interno dell’azienda, L’OPEROSA ha attivato il canale di segnalazione interno, accessibile a tutti i dipendenti che consente di segnalare presunte violazioni o comportamenti illeciti in azienda, ed è stato progettato per garantire la riservatezza e la protezione dell’identità del segnalante, nonché dei soggetti coinvolti nella segnalazione, in caso si verifichino determinate circostanze.È importante sottolineare che L’OPEROSA si impegna a garantire la riservatezza e la protezione dei whistleblower che decidono di segnalare presunte violazioni, con misure di protezione contro eventuali ritorsioni dirette o indirette verso i segnalanti, in conformità della normativa stessa.

WHISTLEBLOWING (Italian Legislative Decree 24/23)

In compliance with Italian Legislative Decree 24/23, which recently came into force and the purpose of which is to promote transparency, responsibility and protect whistleblowers, i.e. the people who report unlawful activities or malpractices within a company, L’OPEROSA has set up an internal reporting channel, accessible to all employees, which allows them to report alleged breaches or unlawful conduct in the company, and which has been designed to protect the identity of the whistleblower and all people involved in the whistleblowing report, if certain circumstances occur. It is important to note that L’OPEROSA guarantees the confidentiality and protection of whistleblowers who decide to report alleged breaches, through measures that protect them from any direct or indirect retaliation, in compliance with the Decree.
