2026 Data Breach Notification

L’Operosa SPA – Benefit Corporation informs that on March 30, 2026, it became aware of an IT security incident affecting its information systems, attributable to a ransomware attack that struck the IT infrastructure of its parent corporate group, L’Operosa Scarl. The event resulted in the temporary unavailability of the systems and processed data, as well as a loss of confidentiality of personal data. The potentially affected data currently concern multiple categories of data subjects, including employees and collaborators, clients, and suppliers, and include personal details, contact information, administrative data, and, for certain categories of individuals, special categories of data pursuant to Articles 9 and 10 of the GDPR. To date, it is not possible to accurately determine the number of data subjects and personal data records involved, partly due to the complexity of the affected systems; technical analysis and forensic verification activities are currently ongoing. Due to the nature of the event and the categories of data involved, the breach could entail certain risks for the data subjects, including, in particular: loss of control over their personal data; identity theft or fraud; and potential fraudulent activities connected to the unauthorized use of the data. Following the incident, the Company promptly adopted technical and organizational measures aimed at containing the event, securing the infrastructure, and progressively restoring the systems, including through remediation activities, forensic investigation, and the strengthening of security measures. Further actions are also underway aimed at preventing the occurrence of similar events in the future. Considering the type of event, the high number of potentially affected individuals, and the current impossibility of identifying them individually, it has not been possible to proceed with immediate individual communication to each data subject. This communication is therefore issued publicly, in accordance with the provisions of Art. 34, paragraph 3, letter c) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. The Company remains committed to completing the verification activities and further competent assessments, and will, where possible, provide further communications to the data subjects through the available contact channels. For any information or clarifications, the Company can be contacted at the address dpo@operosa.it.
